Personal Quote: "Insanity is, doing the exact same f**king thing over and over again expecting things to change"
As a young teenager interested in anime I was always pondering and questioning how other artists featured on deviantart and even here on GaiaOnline were able to create such great artwork, particularly, anime and manga.

I begun working hard, drawing with pencil and paper in an attempt to mimic the art of said artists. Even just to create my own characters and landscapes. I read books on how different artists went about creating anime and manga, watched live streams videos, anything that would further my skills to be just as good as these artists.

Many drawings and much frustration later I begun expanding my inventory to different markers, pens and such like. I begun looking at how I could use my computer to achieve my goal (even though I considered using digital media like Photoshop to edit my drawings as cheating) as I came to the sudden realization that many of the artist I aspired to be like used such media.

As I continued my quest I begun losing hope. Instead of drawing every day I begun drawing once a week, a couple of times a month, once in a blue moon, until I just stopped completely. I had other things to worry about like family, education, jobs, etc. Where can I put the time and effort into drawing when I have so much on my plate already.

Drawing anime and manga,,, became a thing of the past.

As I progressed through my final years of school and started gearing up for university I was studying an Art subject by the name studio art. Honestly, terrible subject. Teachers were biased, no matter what work I did the teacher never liked it, I honestly picked it for the sake of reviving a hobby of mine or else I would have picked politics and furthered my legal skills, as I was aiming for, and currently still am, a career in law (even though I am now iffy on the subject).

However, though difficult and seemingly unfair the subject was, I found out something about my hobby of drawing. Looking around the room at all the students, visiting art galleries and analyzing various artworks I noticed that each and every artist had a different style or way of doing their artwork.

Some artists were aggressive, calm, sad, happy and everything in between. Some attacked their work with aggression and hate, some approached it with peace of mind. Some took photos of the world around them, some painted a picture of a perfect world, some took pencil in hand and let their feelings and emotions run wild on paper be it in words or pictures. There were many different styles from many different artists done in so many different ways,

In the end, I learnt that every artist has their way of conveying what they want to show to the world. I shouldn't be putting time into trying to be someone else, art means many different things to many different people and the way it is expressed really depends on the artist himselfherself. I should look to other artists for inspiration but express myself in my own way, give to the world and everyone watching and reading in my own way.

Wherever you go, whatever you do remember... The world is waiting

Vape Life
After vaping for 30 minutes, an elegant film of vapour covered my room. In the right spot, together with the rays of the sun breaking through the gloom this was a sight to behold.
I wonder if lurkers who steal art know we automatically own copyright over our works the moment we publish them.
